I was arrested on May 9, yet cases were filed: Imran to judge
The Anti-Terrorism Court adjourned further hearing of the case till February 6 when they will be indicted in the cases of May 9 riots.
Rawalpindi: The founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan while talking to the judge during the hearing in Adiala Jail said: “I was arrested on May 9, still cases were filed against me”.
According to the details, the May 9 cases against PTI founder and vice-president Shah Mehmood Qureshi were heard by Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Judge Malik Ijaz Asif in Rawalpindi's Adiala Jail.
During the hearing, the lawyers of PTI founder and Shah Mehmood Qureshi appeared in the court. The former Prime Minister Imran Khan and former foreign minister Shah Mehmood were also produced in the court.
The investigating officers of the May 9 cases have submitted challans to the court.
The Anti-Terrorism Court adjourned further hearing of the case till February 6 when they will be indicted in the cases of May 9 riots.
On the other hand, it is pertinent to note that PTI founder faces 12 cases while Shah Mahmood is involved in six cases all related to their alleged involvement in May 9 riots.
Nevertheless, both have submitted bail appeals in their respective cases.
PTI founder and Vice-President leader found themselves arrested and indicted accused for participating in attacking the state properties and military installations.
