Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has completed the delivery of 26 crore ballot papers for the upcoming general elections ahead on February 8. Today (Tuesday) is the last day of election campaign.

According to the spokesperson of the Election Commission, the election campaign time will end at 12 o'clock tonight, in case of violation legal action will be taken. Original Identity card is mandatory for voting, voting can be done on expired Identity card as well.

He said that the employees of the Election Commission fulfilled this important responsibility through their hard work and systematic planning in a limited time. The process of delivery of ballot papers was completed by both land and air methods.

All the ballot papers were handed over to the respective District Returning Officers and their representatives from the official press agencies.

The spokesperson of the Election Commission further stated that difficulties were faced in this process due to bad weather, but despite all the challenges, the commission completed the work on time so that all the voters could participate in the country's elections in the best and orderly manner.

Moreover, it has been decided to shut down the internet service at sensitive polling booths in Balochistan. Deputy Commissioner Quetta has advised the candidates not to hold unnecessary public gatherings.
