Mushahid calls for caution amidst ‘Feb 8 Surprise’ electoral upset

Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed said that it is a potential watershed moment in Pakistan's political history.
Mushahid characterized the recent events as possibly marking one of the most significant electoral upsets in the nation's recent history, dubbing it the 'February 8 Surprise'.
Sayed stressed the critical importance of seizing this moment as an opportunity to initiate a much-needed Healing Touch, one that would strengthen national unity and stability.
He also emphasized the paramount importance of respecting the popular will and mandate of the Pakistani people, and cautioned against repeating the errors of the 2018 polls.

He specifically referenced the malfunction of the Election Commission's Real-Time System (RTS), which abruptly failed before midnight, resulting in the withholding of results.
The PML-N leader also warned that repeating such mistakes could potentially lead to a catastrophe.
