Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif Friday met party supremo Nawaz Sharif at their residence in Jati Umra and congratulated him on winning the election.
Leader of the PML-N Nawaz Sharif said: “We thank Allah Almighty for giving us success, we have always served the people. The development of the country and getting the people out of difficulties is the agenda of the PML-N”.
Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Maryam Nawaz said in her statement that they are waiting for some results, Mian Muhammad Nawaz will head to PMLN Headquarters for the victory speech as soon as final results are received.
Turning to micro-blogging website X, she wrote: “As opposed to the false perception deliberately built by a section of media last night, PMLN, emerging as the single largest party in center and in Punjab”.
It is pertinent to note that PML-N won on 46 seats in the Punjab Assembly. According to the unofficial results, 39 independent candidates won in the Punjab Assembly, where the Q-League managed to win only two seats.
