Lahore: Amid post-election power-struggle, Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari,  Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, held a significant meeting with former Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at Bilawal House on Saturday.

The sources said that both PML-N and the PPP  leadership reached a crucial agreement on political cooperation.

The discussions were extensive, covering the nation's current situation and the necessity for future political collaboration.

The leaders from both parties expressed a commitment to join forces politically to steer the country away from the perils of political instability.

They underscored the importance of their fundamental agreement to work together in overcoming challenges and safeguarding the nation's interests, said the sources.

The meeting also involved thorough consultations and the exchange of viewpoints on strategic recommendations.

The PML-N's proposals would be formally presented during the Central Executive Committee meeting. The PPP leadership reiterated their stance that the majority mandate bestowed by the people must not be disregarded, affirming their determination not to let down the populace.

Among the attendees from the PML-N delegation were Azam Nazir Tarar, Ayaz Sadiq, Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Tanveer, Khawaja Saad Rafique, Malik Ahmed Khan, Maryam Aurangzeb, and Shehla Fatima.
