Senators bursts on constant increase in gas, electricity prices
Protected consumers predicted to face 100mmbtu and non-protected consumers faced 300Rs per mmbtu charges.
Islamabad: The members of senate committee has exploded on the constant increase in gas and electricity prices.
According to the details, in senate’s financial meeting the strike has been made by some of the members on the continuous hike in gas and power prices.
Senator Sadia Abbasi stated that despite the plantation of solar panels the bills of electricity are not going down. All this is happening because of International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Moreover, Senator Kamil Ali Agha said that a person has a four marla house but his gas bill is coming up to 63,000Rs.
It should be noted that this is the second biggest hike of gas prices during four months. The protected consumers who used low gas will also face extra burden in gas bill amid to IMF’s condition.
Protected consumers predicted to face 100mmbtu and non-protected consumers faced 300Rs per mmbtu charges.
The consumers who used excessive gas predicted to face 900Rs per mmbtu charges in their gas bill. The final approval would be taken from federal cabinet whereas the hike would be applicable afterwards.
Therefore, some of the predictions are about the raise of electricity prices in the country. The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has reserved a decision on the pleas of the monthly adjustment prices by the electricity companies.
