Lahore: The Lahore police has issued a plan to maintain traffic flow during the matches of Pakistan Super League (PSL-9) in Lahore and informed the cricket fans in this regard.
With only two days left in the PSL-9 cricket tournament, fans are eager to watch the cricket matches and the innings of their favorite players.
In this regard, Lahore Traffic Police has also issued a traffic plan for public convenience and awareness of cricket fans.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Amara Athar said that four Superintendents of Police (SPs), 12 District Superintendents of Police (DSPs) and 90 inspectors will perform duties.
Amara Athar stated that more than 900 wardens will be deployed at Gaddafi Stadium. While teams' routes and alternative routes, 20 forklifts, five breakdowns will also be deployed to eliminate illegal parking.
For the convenience of cricket fans and easy access to the stadium, three parking stands will be allocated. City traffic police will welcome cricket fans in a traditional manner. Mall Road, Canal Road, Jail Road, Main Boulevard Road and Gulberg will remain operational for traffic.
CTO Lahore Amara Athar further said that mostly no roads will be closed for traffic during the match, while certain roads will be closed for some time during the movement of the team. Three parking stands have also been allocated for the convenience of cricket fans and easy access to the stadium.
According to CTO Lahore, citizens will be kept informed about the traffic situation through Rasta App and Rasta FM 88.6, people will be able to call helpline 15 for further guidance and assistance.
Citizens will avoid unnecessary travel to Gaddafi Stadium. Take guidance from the traffic staff for parking and stadium entry, keep listening to Rasta app, Rasta FM to stay aware of the traffic situation.
PSL-9 Schedule
It is pertinent to note that the schedule of the ninth edition of PSL was announced on January 12, which will begin on February 17 from Lahore with a match between the defending champions Lahore Qalandars and Islamabad United, while the final of the event will be played in Karachi.
The matches of PSL-9 will be played in four cities including Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi and the final of the event will be held on March 18 at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi.
In this 34-match T20 tournament, Karachi will host a maximum of 11 matches, including qualifiers, two eliminators and the final.
Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium and Rawalpindi's Pindi Cricket Stadium will host nine matches each, while five matches will be played in Multan.
The tournament will have two double headers (two matches in one day) and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will host five double header matches. In the league, the match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings will be played on February 24 in Lahore and March 9 in Karachi.
Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans and Islamabad United will play five matches at their home ground while Peshawar Zalmi will play four matches at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Similarly, Quetta Gladiators will play three in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi. While one match will be played against home side Sultans on February 25 at Multan Cricket Stadium.
Like the previous edition, the ninth edition of PSL will also be held in two phases in which initially Multan Cricket Stadium and Gaddafi Stadium Lahore will host 14 matches from February 17 to 27, followed by 20 matches from February 28 to March 18 which will be played in Rawalpindi and Karachi.
