The court directed the ECP to decide on the petitions before the first session of the National Assembly.

Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday issued a written decision on the petitions against the election results of three constituencies of the federal capital.
In the written decision issued by the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court, Aamer Farooq, it was stated that while the applications are pending in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), the intervention of the High Court is not appropriate.
The court said that the petitioners requested the ECP to withdraw the notification, while the counsel for the Election Commission said that they will decide on the petitions.
It would be appropriate for the Election Commission to decide on the petitions of the petitioners, added the decision.
The court directed the ECP to decide on the petitions before the first session of the National Assembly.
The written judgment further added that the notifications of the successful candidates should be withdrawn if the applications are accepted.
