Marriyum Aurangzeb says Liaqat Ali Chatha’s cell phone data and contacts during the last eight days and before the general elections must be investigated; and his name must place on ECL.

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) while strongly reacting to the allegations of election fraud in Rawalpindi division demanded proper investigation against Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatha.
“ Rawalpindi Division Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatha must be investigated and must be made an example for the sake of the country,” said Marriyum Aurangzeb while addressing a press conference at the party’s secretariat in Model Town on Saturday.
Marriyum said, “Investigate this commissioner with whom he had been in contact with him during the last eight days, and his name must be placed on Exit Control List (ECL),”.
“Complete record of the commissioner regarding his cell phone data and about the contacts he had during the last eight days as well as before the general elections,” said the PML-N spokesperson.
Marriyum lashed out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its top leadership, calling them “fitna”. She expressed serious concerns over allegations of Rawalpindi Division Commissioner and raised important questions in this regard.
“If your allegations are correct then come up with the allegations. You just created a drama and accused the country’s top judge and the chief election commissioner without any proof. Such drama must come to an end,” said Marriyum Aurangzeb.
She said, “This fitna should have been crushed at that time when they staged a protest and sabotaged the Chinese president’s visit. This is the fitna which attacked the Supreme Court and this is the fitna which created social and political crises in the country,”.
She further said that this is the fitna which carried out attacks on May 9.
“When they will be cool and when they will shut their mouths,” she said while addressing the PTI leadership.
“You [commissioner] have made these allegations after passage of eight days. Despite all that you should have produced the evidence,” she added.
Marriyum also asked the ECP, and indirectly addressed the PTI leaders by saying that “You should go to the ECP, to the SC, to IHC, LHC or Sindh High Court if you have proofs but don’t be irresponsible. What you want to do with this country,”.
She also requested everyone including media to be responsible for the sake of the country, saying that Pakistan was undergoing critical juncture at this time.
“They are making allegations and want to go to the America. You go to the relevant forums if you have anything solid,” she said, asking the PTI to stop what she said fake propaganda.
“I also respect and request everyone that we all should be responsible because the country is undergoing critical condition. Please hold on your horses. Be responsible. You have alleged and you must come up with the allegations. You go to the ECP, the SC and IHC, LHC and others for allegations of rigging but you are going to the US,”.
Everyday, she said, a new lie is spread out.
“I also request media to play due role for the sake of the country. If anyone has any objection about rigging anywhere one should go to the Supreme Court and the relevant forum for redressal,” she added.
The PML-N spokesperson regretted that the whole day witnessed a drama at the moment when the governments were being formed.
“A cipher was displayed during a public gathering to build a narrative. We admit that we [the PML-N] cannot make such narratives based on lies. Commissioner sahib if you have proofs then come up with the proofs. And if not then please Stop such kind of allegations,” said Marriyum.
