It is reported that six DROs of Rawalpindi Division have submitted written statements rejecting the allegations of former Commissioner Rawalpindi.

Islamabad: The high-level investigation committee of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has started its investigation on the matter of allegations by Commissioner Rawalpindi Liaquat Ali Chatta, reportedly.
According to media reports, the committee wrote to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) for the transcript of Liaquat Ali Chattha's press conference.
It is reported that six District Returning Officers (DROs) of Rawalpindi Division have submitted written statements rejecting the allegations of former Commissioner Rawalpindi.
The statements of the Returning Officers (ROs) of 13 constituencies of the National Assembly from Rawalpindi Division will also be recorded while the committee will also record the statements of the ROs of the 26 constituencies of the Provincial Assembly.
It is pertinent to note that earlier on Saturday, Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha resigned over election irregularities and decided to surrender before the police.
While holding a press conference at Pindi Cricket Stadium, Commissioner Liaquat Ali Chatta said: “I have done injustice in Rawalpindi Division for which I and others who are involved in it should also be punished”.
Commissioner Rawalpindi Division stated that they have done wrong to this country, therefore he resigned from his post and service.
Liaqat Ali Chattha added that he was under pressure from social media and overseas Pakistanis and tried to commit suicide after morning prayers. ‘I thought I should put these things in front of the public, why should I die a forbidden death. I am passing by, political people are going around to become ministers, they should not betray the country and be unscrupulous’.
