The session of Punjab Assembly is being held under the chairmanship of Speaker Sabtain Khan


Lahore: Speaker Punjab Assembly Sabtain Khan Friday administered oath to the newly elected members.
The meeting of the Punjab Assembly was convened at 10:00am today, which started with a delay of two hours.

The meeting of the Punjab Assembly has been adjourned till 11:00am tomorrow, when Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly will be elected through secret ballot.
Secretary Punjab Assembly said in this regard that the nomination papers for Speaker and Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly can be submitted today while the scrutiny of the papers will also be done today.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)'s nominated Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz is also present in the assembly to take oath. When Maryam Nawaz came to the assembly, the members raised ‘lion’ slogans while the members of the League reached the house with pictures of Nawaz Sharif.
Around 215 members of PML-N and 97 members of Sunni Ittehad Council are present in the House who raised slogans against PML-N while the members of the League also responded to their slogans. In the meeting, Sunni Ittehad Council and PML-N members also had bitter words.
It is pertinent to note that independent candidates supported by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have joined the Sunni Etihad Council.
