Performing Hajj without a permit can lead to six-month imprisonment and a fine of up to 50,000 Riyals.
Riyadh: Saudi Arabia has warned pilgrims and residents not to participate in the upcoming Hajj season 2024 without obtaining the necessary permits.
According to Arab media reports, performing Hajj without a permit is an illegal practice, which can be punished with imprisonment and a fine of up to 50,000 Riyals for residents and foreigners.
In a statement issued by the Saudi government, it is said that the immigrants who commit the violation can be jailed for six months and will be deported for 10 years after the completion of the sentence. Moreover, those who violate this law will also be advertised on media channels.
It is pertinent to note that the Saudi Ministry of Interior has made it mandatory for all pilgrims entering the holy places to have a government permit which can be easily obtained through the website and application.
