The woman also apologized on this occasion that she had no such blasphemous intention and she belongs to sect Ahl-e-Sunnat.

Lahore: A woman wearing a dress which has Arabic calligraphy on it was surrounded by a mob in Ichhra area of Lahore calling it blasphemous content.
In the videos that have gone viral on social media, the woman can be seen standing inside a restaurant-like shop while some people are gathered in front of her, while Dolphin police personnel are also present.
The woman was seen terribly afraid of the mob who harassed her. Someone was also heard saying that he will gun down the girl. The girl could be seen surrendering but no one was ready to listen to her.
Another video came out in which Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shah Bano Naqvi of Lahore Police was addressing the people gathered that she has been serving as ASP, no one ever had any complaint and she had dealt three such other cases as well, therefore people should trust them. Later she went inside the shop and rescued the girl who by the time was wearing a black colored abaya.

Police said that the woman had reached Ichhra Market in the afternoon for shopping, her clothes had something written in Arabic alphabets. On which people expressed their anger and demanded the lady to change her clothes immediately. Meanwhile, the woman reached a restaurant.
Further detailing the incident, police said that the owner of the hotel, seeing the crowd gathering, informed the police due to the sensitivity of the matter, upon which the SHO Ichhra police station reached the spot and immediately transferred took the woman to the police station.
In a video statement on the incident by ASP Gulberg Sheher Bano, it was said that the incident took place on Sunday afternoon. After which a number of people started gathering outside the Ichhra police station and demanded legal action against the woman. On which, seeing the sensitivity of the matter, she herself reached the spot.
In the video statement, the woman and two or three men are present in the police station. The men stated that the woman has been pardoned, there was no such thing in the dress, however such a dress should be avoided.
The woman also apologizes on this occasion that she had no such blasphemous intension and she belongs to sect Ahl-e-Sunnat.
Pakistan Ulama Council Chairman Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi has strongly condemned the harassment of a woman in Lahore because of Arabic words printed on her dress.
In his statement, Tahir Ashrafi said that a woman was harassed in Lahore because Arabic words were printed on her dress.
He added that the efforts of the Ichhra police on this occasion are commendable, but it was unjustified to make the woman apologize, instead the harassers should apologize.
It is pertinent to note that the aggressors who accused blasphemy by mistaking the Quranic verses could not understand the word written on the woman's shirt.
The shirt she was wearing is a Saudi Arabian brand Shalik Riyadh that sells kurtas with Arabic words on them.
At the same time, IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that they have recommended the name of Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi for the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal (QPM), the highest award for law enforcement in Pakistan for putting her life in danger to rescue the woman from the violent crowd.
