Opposition doesn't even want to talk about electoral reforms: Fawad Chaudhry
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Information, Fawad Chaudhry, has criticized opposition parties for not being interested in electoral reforms.

"Opposition doesn't even want to talk about electoral reforms yet they want them. They are confused, disappointed and scattered," he said, pointing out that their direction and intentions are opposite each other," he said.
"The government has again and again asked them to come to the table. Running away from reforms points towards the discrepancy in their narrative," he stated.
Advising the opposition to pursue "positive activities" instead of protest rallies, Fawad Chaudhry said that there was an obvious division in PDM. "One faction wants to play up rallies while the other one states that they want to talk inside the parliament," he commented on PDM's latest presser held on the same day. "The only things that come out of their sittings are rallies, speeches and press conferences," he taunted. He then advised PDM head Maulana Fazlur Rehman to not take revenge for his "political deprivation" from the democratic system. "Fazlur Rehman is playing a different tune and Shehbaz Sharif is singing a different song," he said. The minister then alleged that those who oppose electronic voting are encouraging rigging ridden system to flourish. It would be better if they concentrated on the upcoming elections in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, he advised the opposition.
He also said that preparations are underway for a briefing on Afghanistan. When asked about the matter of leasing out air base, the Minister remarked that both the Foreign Office and Foreign Minister had given their detailed statements on the matter.
