Coronavirus in Pakistan: 56 more succumb to virus in 24 hours
Islamabad: Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 2,697 cases of coronavirus were reported while 56 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 20,736.
The total number of confirmed cases reached to 918,936.
As many as 839,322 patients have recovered from the disease with 4,017 critical cases.
Punjab
The number of patients swelled to 339,073 in the province with 9,982 causalities.
Sindh
The number of infections has surged to 316,752 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,014.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The confirmed cases have surged to 132,170 in the province with 4,060 casualties.
Balochistan
There are 25,083 confirmed cases while 276 patients have died from the infection so far.
AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan
There are 19,170 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 540. On the other hand, there are 5,572 cases in GB with 107 coronavirus deaths.
Islamabad
There are 81,116 cases in the capital city while 757 people have lost their lives.
