Eight missing after passenger bus plunges into Chitral River
Chitral: In an unfortunate incident, eight people have gone missing after a passenger bus fell into the Yarkhun River in the Chitral district of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) province on Sunday.
According to officials, total 10 people were aboard the passenger bus when it fell into the River Yarkhun.
Rescue teams and police reached the spot of incident after getting information.
The ill-fated vehicle was traveling from Chitral to Yarkhon, police said
Two people were rescued by local people, identified as Haji Wali and Muhammad Irshad. The rescued were the latter hails from Pakpattan.
As per authorities, the search operation will continue unless the whereabouts of the missing passengers are ascertained.
The missing passengers have been identified as Asrar Ahmed, Mrs Shehzad, Ejaz Wali, Sultan, Umeed Nabi, Mughal, Deedarudin and his wife.
Intial reports revealed that, the accident took place when the van was crossing a bridge above the river. Driver's negligence is being considered the major cause of the horrific accident.
