Z.A. Bhutto did not get fair trial as per constitution: CJP
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto did not get a fair trial as per the constitution, the fundamental right was not followed in Bhutto's trial, stated the Chief Justice Qazi.
Islamabad: The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faiz Isa Wednesday gave his opinion on the presidential reference related to the Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto case in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Qazi Faiz Isa, gave a brief verdict that the opinion of the Supreme Court is unanimous on this matter, we judges are bound to decide according to the law.
The opinion of the Supreme Court will be unanimous, unless they admit the mistakes themselves. Five questions have been raised in the reference, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto did not get a fair trial as per the constitution, the fundamental right was not followed in Bhutto's trial, stated the Chief Justice Qazi.
Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was present in the Supreme Court when the short court decision was pronounced.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari got upset after hearing the court opinion.
Later speaking to the media outside the Supreme Court Bilawal said that today the Supreme Court has given a historic verdict. Admitting that Zulfiqar Bhutto did not get a fair trial, the court said that the verdict was delivered to correct past mistakes.
He added that he is waiting for the detailed decision of the Supreme Court and will talk to the media after that.
