Islamabad: A farewell Guard of Honor was presented to the outgoing President Dr. Arif Alvi at President House in Islamabad.
Dr. Arif Alvi's tenure as the President of the country is coming to an end, therefore a farewell guard of honor was presented in his honor at the President's House.
The presidential elections in the country are being held on March 9 i.e. tomorrow.
Asif Ali Zardari is the presidential candidate on behalf of the government coalition.
Apart from this, the opposition Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) is supporting the presidential candidate Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the head of Pashtun Khawa Map.
It is pertinent to note that the five-year constitutional term of President Arif Alvi had ended on September 8, 2023.
Arif Alvi was carrying out the duties of the President of Pakistan due to the caretaker setup in the country.
According to the constitution, the President can remain in office for one month after the election.
