Karachi: Water levels at the Hub dam have dropped to a dangerously low level with water left only for a few months in reservoir.

According to details, the Hub Dam that supplies water to Karachi and Lasbela has 328 feet of water left which will be depleted in next few months.
On the other hand, the Water Board had claimed that the water supply was enough for three years.
Meanwhile, there is a fear of water crisis looming over Karachi due to increasing demand.
The main sources of water for Karachi are Keenjhar lake (Indus River) and Hub dam, from where water is pumped through three main bulk pumping stations located at Dhabeji, Gharo, and Hub.
Amid the rising population and changing climate, the availability of fresh water is becoming worrisome in South Asia, particularly in Pakistan, which may face absolute water scarcity in near future.
Earlier, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) placed Pakistan at "third" position in the list of countries facing acute water scarcity.
