Multan: A three-storied dilapidated residential building collapsed near Mohalla Jawadian in Multan, killing nine people and injuring two.
According to the District Emergency Officer, the rescue operation has been completed. The building collapse happened late at night.
The rescue team reached the spot and pulled out the bodies and the injured from the wreckage and shifted to Nishtar hospital.
Among the dead are two women and a child.
Police also reached the spot after the residential building collapsed. Initially, the reasons for the collapse of the building could not be revealed.
Eyewitnesses stated that the building fell at Sehar time.
In this regard, the eyewitnesses further said that first the sound of explosion was heard and after that dust was scattered in the air, and then the rescue works were called for help.
The Deputy Commissioner also reached the spot and reviewed the rescue operation. Some debris from the roof fell on the neighboring houses due to which there is fear of further damage, an emergency was imposed in the hospital.
