Lodhran: An 11-year-old girl was forcibly married to a 40-year-old man in Lodhran.

According to police, a man named Abdul Shakoor in Jalal Arain Tehsil of Lodhran married his 11-year-old daughter to 40-year-old Pahlawan Khan in the absence of his wife.
When the girl's mother returned home, she reported the matter to the police, who recovered her the next day. The girl's mother Ashraf Mai says 11-year-old Sania Bibi is a student of fifth grade.
“In my absence, my mentally handicapped husband sent our daughter away with the accused Pahlawan Khan who physically assaulted my girl the whole night,” the mother said.
Police have registered a case against seven persons, including the groom, under the Child Marriage Act.
The accused managed to escape the scene. Police said that the minor girl was undergoing medical treatment and legal action would be taken against her.
