Islamabad: Two police officials were martyred when some unidentified persons opened fire at a police patrol in federal capital.
According to details, the incident occurred near Carriage Factory at the IJP Road as a result of which two police officials identified as Bashir Shah and Ishtiaq Shah embraced martyrdom.
After getting information, DIG operations and other police personnel reached the site. Speaking to media, DIG operations said that an investigation has been launched into the incident and all accused will be arrested soon.
Meanwhile, Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed also took notice of the incident. While condemning the incident, he extended heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs. He has also sought a report from IG Islamabad of the firing incident.
