Rawalpindi: Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batsman, etched his name in cricket history by becoming the quickest player to reach 3,000 runs in T20I cricket during the second T20I against New Zealand at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
Achieving this milestone in his 79th T20I innings, Rizwan surpassed the previous record jointly held by Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, both achieving it in 81 innings each. He now stands as the second Pakistani to surpass the 3,000-run mark in T20I cricket, following Babar Azam, who boasts 3,712 runs.
Since his T20I debut against Bangladesh in 2015, Rizwan has solidified his position in Pakistan's playing XI, especially after the 2019 World Cup. At 31 years old, his remarkable achievement bolsters his legacy and injects a significant confidence boost ahead of the upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup.
