Sindh CM urges people to vaccinate, follow COVID SOPs
Karachi: In a bid to contain the spread of novel coronavirus, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah Sunday urged public to get Covid-19 jab and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
While addressing a ceremony in Karachi, the Chief Minister stated that after vaccination, SOPs related to coronavirus must be implemented.
“I have taken both doses of vaccination but still I wear mask,” he remarked.
“People have demanded to reopen businesses fully, but for that traders and customers need to vaccinate and also keep proof of it with them,” he stressed.
He further stated that lockdown and COVID norms will be significantly relaxed after everyone is vaccinated.
“I request everyone to cooperate,” he said adding that government have to vaccinate three million people.”
He reiterated his call for vaccination as soon as possible so that normalcy could be restored.
Syed Murad Ali Shah said that 13,536 tests were conducted in Sindh yesterday out of which 722 people reported positive.
“Total 23,682 patients of COVID-19 are currently undergoing treatment in the province,” he added.
He further said that the condition of 859 patients in Sindh is critical while 81 are on ventilators.
Referring to reopening educational institutes, he said that schools will reopen after all teachers will be fully vaccinated.
According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,629 cases of coronavirus were reported while 76 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 21,265.
The total number of cases has reached 930,511.
As many as 863,111 patients have recovered from the disease with 3,303 critical cases.
In Sindh, the number of infections has surged to 323,072 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,116.
