Uber announces closure of Pakistan app
The globally acclaimed ride-hailing service will use Careem for operations in the country


Lahore: Renowned ride-hailing service Uber has announced to close its application in the country and divert its Pakistan’s operations to Careem Pakistan.
A spokesperson for the ride-hailing service confirmed the move, saying its difficult to announce the closure of application especially when Uber has thousands of drivers and customers at their disposal.
He also said that Uber’s Careem online taxi application would be working in Pakistan.
It should be noted that earlier Uber had ceased its services in the biggest cities of Pakistan including Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Islamabad in 2022.
It is important to mention here that an email was issued by the Uber amid this matter.
