Apple to boost iPad features, improve privacy tools
Apple is planing to debut major software updates for the iPhone and iPad at its developers’ virtual conference, coming week.

Reportedly, the company is facing criticism from some developers over its App Store policies.
The controversy was highlighted by a three-week trial last month of a lawsuit filed by Epic Games Inc., which argued that the iPhone maker’s policies and revenue share of as much as 30% are anticompetitive.
The virtual event will also include software updates for the Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV as well as tools developers can use to build apps.
Following the occasion, Apple plans to discuss new privacy protections for limiting data collection as well as health-tracking, notifications and messaging features.
Executives also will promote significant improvements to iPad software, making the device more capable and appealing to more advanced users.
Meanwhile, Apple announced spatial audio for Apple Music last month alongside the addition of lossless files to the streaming service.
Spatial audio will work with AirPods, built-in speakers on Apple devices, and third-party headphones, and should provide more immersive Dolby Atmos mixes compared to regular stereo audio.
Previously, the tech giant stated that the feature would launch in June, so a mention of the release date at the WWDC keynote wouldn’t have been surprising, but it seems the company wants to give it a little more time in the spotlight.
