Firefighters Day: Maryam says real heroes those who jump into others’ fire
Notably, 33 firefighters were martyred and many were physically disabled while protecting the lives and property of citizens in Karachi
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Saturday said that those who jump into the burning fire for others are the real heroes.
While issuing a special message on International Firefighters Day, Punjab Chief Minister stated that Firefighters Day is a day to recognize the sacrifices of firefighters who rescue people trapped in fires.
“Salute to every brave firefighter! How can we forget the rescuers who sacrifice their lives, the true heroes who jump into a raging fire for others without regard for life,”added Maryam.
She further said that firefighters fully face every challenge in the discharge of duty, and implementation of safety measures is necessary to prevent fire incidents.
The Chief Minister of Punjab continued to say that to protect high-rise buildings from fire, they will ensure the implementation of building safety laws. Necessary steps are being taken to implement the Punjab Community Safety Buildings Regulations.
It is pertinent to note that World Firefighters Day is being observed today across the world including Pakistan. The purpose of celebrating this day is to remember the great sacrifice of firefighters, highlight their role and protect their rights.
On World Firefighters Day, around the world including Pakistan, tributes will be paid to them in recognition of their great sacrifices and services.
Notably, 33 firefighters were martyred and many were physically disabled while protecting the lives and property of citizens in Karachi. Due to financial difficulties and other reasons faced by the Municipality of Karachi, the fire brigade and firefighters are deprived of basic facilities and duties.
Along with celebrating Firefighters Day, it is also important to take steps to solve their problems quickly. Mayor Karachi says that Firefighters are our heroes. In recognition of their services, a medal of excellence will be awarded by the Municipality of Karachi.
