Sardar Salim Haider says he lacked authentic information regarding the wheat crisis and is unaware of any involvement of the ruling government or other political parties.
Islamabad: Sardar Salim Haider, the nominee of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) for Punjab governorship, said that he would play a role of bridge between his party and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
Haider said he would strive to address the issues of Punjab.
He expressed these words while talking informally to the reporters in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The PPP’s nominated governor expressed gratitude to President Asif Ali Zardari, party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, and Faryal Talpur for their trust.
"I am hopeful to remain with PPP as long as I am in politics," he said.
Haider mentioned that he lacked authentic information regarding the wheat crisis and is unaware of any involvement of the ruling government or other political parties. He plans to meet Punjab Chief Minister and the Farmers' Union regarding the wheat issue.
“We have allied under compulsion and will move forward together. Almost 50% of our workers have admitted to this alliance,” he stated.
Responding to a journalist's question about whether he was Bilawal Bhutto's candidate or Asif Ali Zardari's, the Punjab Governor nominee clarified that he was the PPP's candidate.
