The court reserved its decision on the petition against Shireen Mazari's arrest


Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Tuesday reserved its decision on the petition against the alleged arrest/kidnapping of former federal minister Dr. Shireen Mazari.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani is hearing the case against the alleged arrest/kidnapping of Dr. Shireen Mazari in the IHC. Faisal Chaudhary Advocate appeared in the court on behalf of the petitioner, Advocate Iman Mazari.
Additional Attorney General Manoor Iqbal Duggal appeared before the court. The court inquired from the Anti-Corruption officials if their team had come to arrest them. On which the Anti-Corruption officials said that on May 21, 2022, they came to arrest and after registering the First Informa5tion Report (FIR), we notified Shireen.
The Anti- Corruption officials told the court that before the arrest, the Deputy Commissioner was informed, the police of Kohsar police station was with them.
During the hearing, Justice Mohsin Akhtar remarked on the arrest of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan that if an arrest is required from another province, will someone from outside come and take it away. It happened like this, they picked up a man from the court, broke the doors, took away things as if there was an arrest, then that arrest was declared illegal by the Supreme Court.
Justice Kayani further said that what is happening today will be happening to others after two years, we will be sitting here, how can someone go to another province and arrest someone.
The judge remarked that action has been recommended by the Shireen Mazari Commission, we have to move forward in the context of the commission's revert and the court's decision.
Later, the court reserved its decision on the petition against Shireen Mazari's arrest.
It is pertinent to note that on May 21, 2022, former leader of PTI and former Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari was arrested from Islamabad.
