LCCI President Kashif Anwar acknowledges the vital role of law enforcement agencies in ensuring public safety, noting the sacrifices made by police office

Lahore: DIG Operations Lahore Muhammad Faisal Kamran on Wednesday visited the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) to address traders on market security, law and order, and the collaboration between LCCI and the Police Department.
LCCI President Kashif Anwar welcomed the attendees, which included Senior Vice President Zafar Mahmood Chaudhry, Vice President Adnan Khalid Butt, and numerous members, including presidents of various markets.
In his address, LCCI President Kashif Anwar acknowledged the vital role of law enforcement agencies in ensuring public safety, noting the sacrifices made by police officers. He emphasized the strong relationship between the police department and LCCI and highlighted ongoing discussions from the previous visit of DIG Operations, including the police verification of employees and workers in factories and markets. He suggested advancing this initiative as a pilot project and called for police assistance, particularly in cracking down on the beggar mafia.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran addressed the members' questions, stressing the importance of a Citizen Police Liaison Committee and noting a 30% reduction in the city's crime rate. He mentioned his daily two-hour open court sessions to address citizen concerns directly.
Kamran also discussed measures to combat harassment of women, highlighting the Women Safety App and the Crime Stopper application, which allow women to report incidents anonymously, ensuring their protection and identity. He called for increased awareness about these tools.
Addressing drug addiction, Kamran pointed out the need for rehabilitation facilities to help addicts become productive citizens. He announced plans to make forty areas of the city crime-free, expanding this initiative citywide, and reiterated the police's zero-tolerance policy against illegal occupation.
Kamran noted a significant reduction in street crime and instructed the police to file accurate reports and maintain respectful conduct with citizens. He urged the business community to communicate their issues through the chamber for prompt resolution.
