The sources say that Shaheen Afridi has not been approached or offered the vice-captaincy role

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board is deliberating on two names including Muhammad Rizwan and Imad Wasim for the post of vice-captaincy ahead of the fast approaching ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the sources close to the development said on Saturday.
The sources said that either all-rounder Imad Wasim or wicket-keeper-batsman Muhammad Rizwan would be selected for the role of vice-captain.
They said that the selection committee ruled out the possibility of fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi being considered for the vice-captaincy position.
They clarified, “Shaheen Afridi has not been approached or offered the vice-captaincy role,”.
Imad Wasim and Muhammad Rizwan emerged as strong contenders for the vice-captaincy position. The final decision for this role would be made after consultation with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the sources added.
