Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas Thursday announced new timings for both private and public schools in the province.

The development came amid exceptionally scorching weather conditions in Punjab.
“All Public and Private Schools of Punjab to comply with the following New School Timing Schedule: 7am to 11:30am,” Murad Raas tweeted.

“Please follow SOPs issued by the government,” he added.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) decided to cut the duration of classes due to the continuing heatwave in Islamabad after 25 students lose consciousness due to choking at a school.
CEO Education Lahore on Friday issued institutions’ timings according to which operational hours of Girls’ schools from nursery to middle will be 7:15 am to 11:15 am while classes of matric and Intermediate girls’ students will be from 7:30 am to 11:45 am.
On the other hand, Boys’ schools from classes nursery to the eighth will run from 7:15 am to 11:30 am while classes of ninth to twelfth grade will be from 7:15 am to 12 pm
According to CEO Education Lahore Pervez Akhtar Khan, 50% of students will attend school in one day and no student will come to school for 2 consecutive days.
All teaching and non-teaching staff and students will have to wear masks and ensure social distancing is maintained.
Remember there will be no breaks during classes.
On June 3, the Punjab government announced a staggered reopening of public and private schools across the province starting from June 7.
According to a notification shared by Punjab Education Minister Dr Muraad Raas and issued by the school education department, only 50% of students shall attend classes on a given day whereas no student shall attend the school for two consecutive days.
All concerned authorities shall ensure observance and compliance of COVID-19 SOPs in letter and spirit, read the notification.

Earlier, Murad Raas announced that schools in districts including Lahore where the institutes have not yet reopened—classes in a staggered manner would be held from June 7.
