Blome hopes Pakistan will have 'an unforgettable tournament' in New York
The Green Shirts will face arch-rival India on June 9 in New York
Islamabad: United States Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome Saturday conveyed his best wishes to the Pakistan cricket team ahead of the Twenty20 (T20) World Cup 2024 set to commence today.
"On behalf of the US mission in Pakistan, I extend my warmest wishes to captain Babar Azam and his team for an unforgettable tournament," Ambassador Blome said in a video message posted on the American embassy's official X account.

The envoy's remarks came as his country is co-hosting its first-ever T20 World Cup along with West Indies, which will see 20 teams battling it out for the coveted title.
Pakistani cricket team reaches Dallas
Pakistan cricket team reached Dallas on Friday to participate in the upcoming International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's T20 World Cup 2024.
Pakistan cricket team will play their first match in ICC T20 World Cup against host USA in Dallas on June 6. In Group A of T20 World Cup, the matches of Pakistan are scheduled against India, USA, Canada and Ireland.
The national cricket team arrived in Dallas from London after participating in a four-match T20I series against defending champions England.
In the mega event, Pakistan's high-voltage clash against India is scheduled on June 9 in New York. Pakistan team's third match is against Canada on June 11 in New York, then they will face Ireland on June 16 at Lauderhill.
The Green Shirts played three bilateral T20I series to prepare for the T20 World Cup 2024 but could not produce the desired results.
Pakistan squad for T20 World Cup 2024 includes captain Babar Azam, Saeem Ayub, Mohammad Rizwan, Fakhar Zaman, Azam Khan, Usman Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Abbas Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed.
