The electricity consumers will now be able to pay instalments of electricity bills only once a year


Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has given another blow to the consumers paying huge electricity bills. The authorities have amended the consumer service manual after which consumers lost the relief of installment payment of electricity bills.
According to the reports, consumers have been deprived of the relief of installment payment of electricity bills as NEPRA has limited the facility of installment payments. The electricity consumers will now be able to pay installments of electricity bills once a year.
It is also reported that NEPRA has amended the consumer service manual, ordering all the electricity companies. In case of installments, only the computerized version should be issued.
The media report suggested that due to the official holiday, non-payment of the bill was directed to collect the late fee.
