Lahore: Two terrorists of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were killed during a police encounter last night, in Bahawalpur, a statement by the Counter- Terrorism Department (CTD) of police said on Wednesday.
The CTD spokesman said that two terrorists named Adeel alias Saifullah Khorasani and Zain alias Asadullah Khorasani were arrested a few days ago during the investigation of a murder case in Hasilpur, and they were under the custody of the police.
Last night both terrorists were brought to identify the hidden weapons, when their accomplices opened the fire on the CTD team in ambush, during the retaliation both arrested terrorist were killed by the firing of their own accompliences, while the other were managed to flee, he added.
The spokesman said that the killd terrorist formed a four-member TTP network, and they had planned to kill the Federal Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada. The search opearations is going on to arrest the terrorists who opened the fire at CTD team, he said.
The spokesperson further said that the Counter Terrorism Department Punjab is diligently pursuing its goal of a safe Punjab and is determined to root out the scourge of terrorism. He said that in case of any information related to terrorism, citizens should report on the helpline of Counter Terrorism Department Punjab on 0800-11111.
