Papua New Guinea set Uganda a target of 78 runs, which Uganda achieved in 18.2 overs for the loss of seven wickets


Guyana: In the ninth match of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men's T20 Cricket World Cup, Uganda defeated Papua New Guinea by three wickets to clinch first win of the event.
Batting first, Papua New Guinea set Uganda a target of 78 runs, which Uganda achieved in 18.2 overs for the loss of seven wickets.
In the T20 World Cup, the two teams from Group C are facing each other at the National Stadium in Guyana.
First innings
Uganda won the toss and decided to field in the match being played in Providence, Rhode Island, USA.
Papua New Guinea were all out in 19.1 overs, with opening batsman Tony Ora and Asadwala out for no runs.
Hari Hari 15, Liga Sayaka and Caplin Dorega 12 each while Charles Amini, Norman Wanua and Sissy Bau played an innings of five runs each.
Second Innings
Uganda's innings didn't get off to a good start either. The opening batsman Simon Sisazi and Roger Masaka getting out for no runs.
Riazat Ali Shah of Uganda played an important role in the success of the team by playing an innings of 33 runs while supporting the team.
It is pertinent to note that three matches are being played in the T20 World Cup today. In the second match, the teams of Australia and Oman are facing each other.
In today's third match, Pakistan's national team will start their campaign in the World Cup against USA. The match will start at 8:30pm according to Pakistani local time.
