The livestock farmers could get loans through Livestock Card for their work and economic well-being

Lahore: In a groundbreaking initiative, the Punjab Livestock Card and the "Farmer Guidance App" have been introduced for the first time in Pakistan. Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has sanctioned the Punjab Livestock Card project, which will provide a 250,000-rupee interest-free loan for animal feed.
During a meeting focused on livestock development, chaired by CM Maryam Nawaz, several critical projects received approval. The Chief Minister instructed officials to streamline the loan acquisition process for livestock farmers and develop a scheme specifically for dairy farming in South Punjab. "Our goal is to lead Punjab's livestock farmers toward economic independence," stated the CM.
The meeting revealed plans to evaluate the provision of soft installment loans for both male and female dairy farmers in South Punjab's rural areas. Through the Punjab Livestock Card, 40,000 farmers will receive loans.
The scheme aims to make 400,000 animals available for meat export. Farmers will benefit from free animal tagging, free insemination services, and quality testing facilities for wanda and silage. A soft loan of 270,000 rupees will be provided through the Livestock Card for purchasing wanda, silage, and mineral mixtures, repayable within 90 days. Additionally, livestock care will be enhanced through the 'Animal Identity Traceability System' in Punjab.
The meeting was attended by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Minister for Agriculture Syed Ashiq Hussain, Special Assistant Rashid Nasrullah, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Secretary of Livestock, and other relevant officials.
