Sugar, ghee, tea leaves, noodles, jam, jellies and cosmetics are likely to become more expensive
Islamabad: The budget for the next financial year is expected to increase the sales tax due to which sugar, ghee, tea leaves and makeup products are likely to become expensive.
The meeting of the federal cabinet under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is going on, in which various aspects of the budget for the next financial year are being considered. The decisions of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) will be approved and the federal budget for the next financial year will be presented tomorrow.
Sugar, ghee, tea leaves, noodles, jam, jellies and cosmetics are likely to become more expensive in the event of an expected increase in the sales tax rate in the next fiscal year's budget.
According to media report, the increase in sales tax on sugar from 18 to 19 percent may hike the price of sugar by Rs5 per kg.
Apart from this, ghee is likely to be expensive by Rs5-7, soap by Rs-5 and shampoo by Rs15-20.
