The much-awaited rain that lasted for more than an hour transformed the city into a cool and pleasant retreat besides bringing down the temperature to 30 degrees Celsius

Lahore: Heavy rain has brought relief to the masses in Lahore and other parts of Punjab who had been suffering from scorching heat for last many days.

The rain also brought much relief to the people who had been facing trouble due to massive load-shedding in the city.
The Meteorological Office predicted that Lahore may see another spell of rain in the coming days.
The rain continued for more than an hour in Lahore which caused temporary flooding while the urban roads resembled like the streams. Gulberg, Cavalry Ground, and Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Ferozpur road, Model Town, Green Town, Muslim Town, Ishra and many other also received huge rain as water accumulated in many low-lying areas.
However, no report any casualty was reported despite many inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians. Likewise, no significant property damage was reported due to heavy rain.
The strong winds and rain, however, disrupted local electricity supplies, leaving many areas without power and water for several hours.
The utility services were quickly restored following the rainfall.
