Muzaffarabad: More than 15 dangerous prisoners escaped from the district jail of Rawalakot on Sunday.
The police said that the prisoners took the jail staff hostage and fled from there. As a result, one of the prisoners died due to gunfire in the jail.
After the escape, the security was on high alert across the district, and the various checkpoints were established to bring them to justice. According to SP Muhammad Riaz Mughal, a prisoner held the guard stationed at the main gate at gunpoint.
The escaped prisoners include those involved in terrorism, murder, attempted murder, and drug trafficking.
