In Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi and other cities, processions, congregations and mourning will continue


Lahore, Islamabad: The 9th Muharram Al-Haram processions will be taken out with devotion and respect across the country in memory of the great sacrifices of Imam Hussain, the grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), and the martyrs of Karbala.
In Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Rawalpindi and other cities, processions, congregations and mourning will continue. Strict security arrangements have been made on this occasion.
Yesterday, the main procession of Muharram 8 in Karachi ended after reaching its destination Hussainiya Iraniyan Kharadar. Strict security arrangements were made on the procession routes, and streets and roads were sealed. MA Jinnah Road, Corridor-III and different places of Saddar were kept closed by placing containers. The Green Line and Orange Line bus services will remain suspended today and tomorrow in the city.
Also, in Lahore, the Muharram 8 procession passed through the traditional routes and ended in Block Syedan. Security was on high alert at the passageways of the procession, and more than 5,000 police personnel were deployed.
