Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) along with his faithful companions laid down their lives for the revival of Islamic values and the rights of Ummah while strongly resisting the forces of cruelty and tyranny


Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday stressed upon the need of display of unity and facing the forces of cruelty and evil with steadfastness while learning lessons from the incident of Karbala.
In his message on Youm e Ashur, the president appealed to the entire nation to stand for forbearance, hard work and justice, besides realizing the requirements of the poor and the needy.
Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) along with his faithful companions laid down their lives for the revival of Islamic values and the rights of Ummah while strongly resisting the forces of cruelty and tyranny.
He said that martyrs of Karbala had given a lesson to the Muslim Ummah to remain steadfast in the face of all kinds of brutalities and raise voice against all evils.
President Zardari said today, the Kashmiri and Palestinian brothers and sisters are also facing troubles and ordeals and bracing the hardships and oppression while sacrificing their lives for justice and principles of freedom.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stressed to promote equality, tolerance, unity and discipline within ourselves to deal the internal and external threats facing the country.
In his message on the occasion of Ashura, he advised to draw inspiration from the values of fortitude and courage from the martyrs of Karbala and show perseverance in trials.
The Prime Minister said we should forget the racial, professional, linguistic and other differences to make our country stronger.
He said the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (RA) teaches us to stand firm against oppression.
The Prime minister said in today's world, we witness the people of Palestine enduring immense hardships and making immense sacrifices for a great cause.
Similarly people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir are also suffering the atrocities of the oppressive forces.
