Islamabad: Pakistan’s registered death toll from coronavirus infections rose towards 22,000 on Monday, but some data suggested the spread of the disease has been contained.

Pakistan is presently experiencing the third wave of coronavirus which is said to be deadlier and more contagious than previous two waves.

According to National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), around 1,038 cases of coronavirus were reported while 46 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total death toll to 21,828.

The total number of confirmed cases reached to 944,065.

As many as 882,332 patients have recovered from the disease with 2,490 critical cases.

Punjab                                                                                         

The number of patients swelled to 344,379 in the province with 10,567 causalities.

Sindh

The number of infections has surged to 329,279 in the province, while the death toll has reached 5,273.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

The confirmed cases have surged to 136,313 in the province with 4,240 casualties.

Balochistan

There are 26,331 confirmed cases while 297 patients have died from the infection so far.

AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan

There are 19,822 coronavirus cases in the AJK while the death toll has reached 570. On the other hand, there are 5,734 cases in GB with 108 coronavirus deaths.

Islamabad

There are 82,207 cases in the capital city while 773 people have lost their lives.
