A new monsoon spell predicted in country from tonight
PMD has predicted that many parts of the country are likely to receive rain during next week
Lahore: More rain is predicted across the country during the next week as monsoon currents are likely to penetrate from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal in upper parts from July 22 (tonight).
A new spell of monsoon has entered in Punjab and upper parts of the country, informed the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Sunday.
Most parts of the country are currently facing very hot and humid conditions where feel likes temperatures are being recorded higher than the atmospheric temperatures.
Met office informed that strong monsoon currents are likely to penetrate from Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal in upper parts from 22nd July.
Under the influence of this weather system, rain-wind/thundershower with isolated heavy falls is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sheikhupura, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Jhang and Faisalabad during next four days; July 22 to July 25.
“On July 23rd and 24th, rain and thunderstorms are also expected in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Rajanpur, Rahimyar Khan, and Layyah,” informed the PMD.
Rain-wind/thundershower (with isolated heavy falls) is expected in Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Malakand, Bajaur, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Swabi, Nowshera, Kurram, Kohat and Waziristan during the period.
However, it has predicted hot and humid weather in Sindh, Balochistan and South Punjab during the next three to four days.
PMD has informed that mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most districts of the Balochistan where rainfall is expected with occasional gaps on July 23 and July 24 in north and eastern parts of province. These distrcits include Khuzdar, Kalat, Lasbella, Awaran, Ziarat, Zhob, Barkhan, Musa Khel, Shirani, Kohlu, Harnai, Naseerabad and Jaffarabad.
Likewise, in Sindh, it is predicted hot and very humid weather in most districts while rain is expected in Mithi, Sanghar, Umarkot, Tharparkar, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur, Larkana and Dadu on July 23 and 24 with occasional gaps.
