Govt to take over affairs of Sarim Burney Trust
FIA had written a letter to the Sindh government in this regard
Karachi: The government of Sindh has decided to take control of the affairs of Sarim Burney Welfare Trust.
According to the details, the Sindh government decided to take control following the request of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The government issued instructions to the Social Welfare Department of Sindh to take control. FIA had written a letter to the Sindh government in this regard.
It is pertinent to note that on June 5, the well-known social leader Sarim Burney was arrested by the FIA at Karachi Airport on his return from America.
FIA stated that there are very serious allegations against Sarim and his movements were being monitored for a long time.
On June 8, the Sessions Court of Karachi rejected the request of the FIA to extend the physical remand of social worker Sarim in the child trafficking case and sent him to jail on judicial remand.
