K-P Law Minister Aftab Alam confirmed the letter has been dispatched to PHC CJ

Peshawar: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government formally requested a judicial inquiry into the May 9 incidents by writing a letter to Chief Justice Peshawar High Court (PHC) Ishtiaq Ibrahim on Sunday.
K-P Law Minister Aftab Alam confirmed that the provincial government's Establishment and Administration Department dispatched the letter, which calls for the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 events.
Alam added that Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim will announce the commission members, with a judge from the PHC set to lead it.
This decision follows the K-P Cabinet's approval of a judicial inquiry, emphasizing the need to identify the main perpetrators involved in the incidents.
