Supreme Court referred matter to three-member committee for formation of larger bench


Islamabad: The matter to form a larger bench has been sent to a three-member committee on the suo motu notice case related to the murder of journalist Arshad Sharif.
In the Supreme Court of Pakistan, a suo motu case was heard to investigate the murder of journalist Arshad Sharif. A three-member bench of the Supreme Court comprising Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan heard the case.
During the hearing, Justice Mansoor remarked that this matter did not come before the three-member committee, on which the Attorney General said that interim reports have been submitted before the court.
The Attorney General took the stand that the draft of the joint legal assistance has been prepared. The legal assistance will be approved in the next meeting of the cabinet.
Justice Mansoor Ali Shah inquired whether any decision had come from the Kenyan court. To which the Attorney General replied that yes, they have already decided.
During the hearing, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah remarked that we cannot hear the debate on the merits of this case.
Later, the Supreme Court referred the matter to a three-member committee for the formation of a larger bench on suo motu notice regarding the murder of journalist Arshad Sharif.
