Lawmaker Imtiaz Choudhary was in ACE's custody in physical remand

Gujranwala: Armed men allegedly freed PTI MNA Imtiaz Choudhary from the custody of the Anti Corruption Establishment's (ACE) custody, officials said on Wednesday.
The incident happened when the ACE officials had taken the lawmaker to Mandi Bahauddin for interrogation. A group of around eight to 10 gun-toting people travelling in three vehicles, stopped the authority's team on Gujrat's New Shadiwal Road and fired upon their vehicle at around 1:120am on Tuesday.
The suspects managed to take the MNA along with them.
The PTI MNA was taken into custody by ACE from his house on July 25 in connection with receiving kickbacks from development works during the Imran Khan-led PTI government.
Choudhary, who has been presented before the relevant court in the said case on two occasions, was in the ACE's custody on physical remand and was due to be presented before a civil court today.
