Court issued an order to extend interim bail of 36 accused till August 10


Lahore: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore Friday extended the interim bail of 36 accused including Omar Ayub, Asad Umar, and Fawad Chaudhary in three cases of May 9.
ATC Judge Khalid Arshad heard the applications for interim bail of the accused in three cases of May 9 including Askari Tower attack, and the vandalism in Shadman Police Station.
Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Omar Ayub and other accused appeared in the court and confirmed their attendance.
Former Federal Minister Asad Umar did not appear in court even today while his lawyers filed a request for exemption from attendance which was accepted by the court.
Later, the court issued an order to extend the interim bail of 36 accused including Umar Ayub, Asad Omar, and Fawad Chaudhary in three cases of the May 9 tragedy including Askari Tower attack, Shadman police station siege, till August 10.
It is pertinent to note that cases have been registered against the accused in Gulberg and Shadman police stations.
‘May 9 cases are fake and false’: Omar Ayub
Later speaking to the media after the court appearance, Opposition Leader National Assembly Omar said that the cases that have been made against us all over Pakistan are based on lies. The cases of May 9 are fake and false.
He stated that the cases of Toshakhana and Al-Qadir Trust are also baseless and bogus.
Omar Ayub added that Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have been acquitted in the Iddat case. False cases are being filed against Alia Hamza. He also condemned the corruption done by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
