Funeral prayers of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and his bodyguard were performed at Imam Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab Mosque


Doha: The funeral prayers of Hamas leader and former Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh and his bodyguard were performed in Doha.
The funeral prayers of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh and his bodyguard were performed at the Imam Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahab Mosque, after which they will be buried in the cemetery of Lusail, Qatar.
According to Arab media, a large number of leaders and people from different countries from around participated in the funeral prayer of Haniyeh.
Emir of Qatar, Turkish Foreign Minister and Al-Fatah delegation participated in the funeral prayer, while Amir Jamat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman is also present in Qatar to participate in the funeral prayer of Ismail.
Earlier, the body of Ismail Haniyeh was brought to his residence in the capital of Qatar. The bodies of Ismail Haniyeh and his bodyguard Waseem Abu Osman wrapped in Palestinian flags were brought to Doha Airport from Tehran.
In many countries including Pakistan, Ismail Haniyeh's funeral prayers were performed in absentia.
It is pertinent to note that the head of Hamas was martyred in an assassination attack in his residence in Tehran between Tuesday and Wednesday night. His funeral prayer was performed in Tehran yesterday.
On this occasion, the newly-elected president of the country, Al-Madiqyan, was also with him. According to the news agency, thousands of people gathered at the funeral prayer of Ismail Haniyeh carrying posters with his photos and the Palestinian flag.
Before the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, 70 members of his family had lost their lives in Israeli attacks.
Hamas, the Palestinian resistance organisation, while confirming the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, said that he was targeted by Jewish agents, this attack was a cowardly act, which would be avenged.
